Born in Belgium, he studied art at the prestigious Royal Academy for Fine Arts in Ghent.
For more than thirty years, Philippe made three-dimensional prototypes, performed sculptural commands for museums and provided pieces for design and publicity works. Since 2011 he has especially been focusing on his own body of work. His figurative sculptures are a contemporary attempt to incarnate non-tangible emotions and reflexions. The more realistic statues find their roots in the tradition of the classical sculpture and they try to give cautious and vulnerable answers to art lovers questions. Philippe creates powerful and exciting sculptures made of bronze. His athletic male figures, expressing their deeper inner feelings in their movements.
