De Block, Belgium, 1959

She met her husband Robert in her early twenties. Together they started a foundry using lost-wax casting (also called ‘investment casting’, or ‘cire perdue’ in French). They mostly produced bronzes for other artists. Meanwhile, Chantal continued creating her own art. Her imagination shows two very different styles: children and nymphs. After more than 20 years of working for and with other artists, Chantal decided to dedicate all of her time to her personal creations. In Chantal's work, you often see naïve children, with multiple attitudes. Inspired by the joy and innocence of her own children, her art is colorful and expresses happiness.
